• Beautiful moist cake , a bit too much buttercream which is very sweet but easy to part cake and slice the buttercream to a lesser thickness , but great service and it is nice to have a weekend treat for family

• Guilty pleasure. Present for my elderly parents. They were so surprised it was bought online and not homemade.

• Almost a 5 star product for me. The filling let it down. The butter icing was a little too sweet and sugary, needed to be smoother. Not enough jam to taste. With a generous sized cake like this one was, a deeper generous filling is essential. I added more jam in myself. This adjustment would have made it perfect.

• Classic and elegant with a lovely look to it, we used it as the layer we ‘cut the cake’ with.

• comments about Victoria sponge were yummy yummy - delicious. The recipient was also given a home made lemon drizzle cake and quality of the sponge was lighter than the Victoria sponge. It was not a criticism of the quality of the Victoria sponge though.

• Would have liked more jam in the Victoria Sandwich, mine arrived with hardly any and none at all in places. Not at all like in the illustration.

• Victoria cake for 8 was perfect for my husbands birthday. Arrived on time and everyone said what a nice cake it was. Will definitely be ordering one again.

• I tend to bake my own cakes but for special occasions I know the cake needs to be spot on and these cakes never ceases to impress. When the cakes arrive they tell you let them stand for a while so the flavours can settle and that is a must as wow oh wow the flavours are absolutely divine!! Wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

• Really enjoyed this cake, smelled amazing, looked great and tasted fantastic. It was deeper than I expected and had decent sized portions (I love a big slice of cake). It kept well (even in a heatwave) and tasted great. My only complaint is that it didn't get delivered the day I selected, so instead of arriving the day before the birthday it arrived 3 days before, which was fine as the cake last 5-7days as they said, just I wasn't ready for the delivery on the day it came as I was expecting it on the day I selected and could be a problem if you're out or ordering ahead of when you wanted it.

• The sponge is very light and the filling tastes good. It stores well too.

• The Victoria sponge was light and moist. The jam and cream were very tasty yet not too sweet. There is always a good sell by date on these cakes which is a bonus if you like to savour the cake for a few days.

• Lovely Victoria sponge, was bought for our dads 70th birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

• Gorgeous cake and perfect size! Communication was excellent and it was delivered exactly when it was supposed to. Ordered from Sponge quite a few times and they are always very reliable.
