An apple a day keeps the doctor away... or so they say. The proverb actually emerged in the 19th century, it was a way to promote eating more healthily and getting fruit into people’s diets. The basic idea was if you eat healthy food, in general you’ll be healthier and you won’t need to see the doctor as much. This was at a time before the NHS, when you had to pay to see a doctor and many chose not to, regardless of how ill they were, because they simply couldn’t afford to.

Our Apple Crumble Cakes have a 7-day life from the date of dispatch, so even if they arrive a day or two early, they will still be fresh and delicious on your special occasion.
