Meet Your New Favourite Summer Dessert: The Neapolitan Ice Cream Sundae
What if you took one of our delicious slices of Neapolitan Cake and turned it into the ultimate ice cream sundae?
There are few things that say summer quite like ice cream. Whether you're making the most of a sunny afternoon, hosting friends in the garden or simply looking for an excuse to treat yourself (our favourite kind of excuse), there's always room for a little something sweet. So, we had an idea...
What if you took one of our delicious slices of Neapolitan Cake and turned it into the ultimate ice cream sundae?
Spoiler alert: it's every bit as good as it sounds.
The Neapolitan Ice Cream Sundae Recipe
Serves: 1
You'll need:
1 slice of Sponge Neapolitan Cake
2 generous scoops of strawberry ice cream
Whipped cream
1 fresh strawberry (optional)
Method
Add half the slice of Neapolitan Cake to the bottom of your sundae glass.
Top with a generous scoop of strawberry ice cream.
Repeat with another layer of cake and another scoop of ice cream.
Finish with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry.
That's it!
Four simple steps to a dessert that's guaranteed to make people smile.
Why choose between cake and ice cream?
Some desserts ask you to make a difficult decision.
Cake or ice cream?
We don't believe you should have to choose.
Our Neapolitan Cake is already a celebration of three classic flavours, making it the perfect partner for creamy strawberry ice cream. Add a swirl of whipped cream, a fresh strawberry and suddenly you've got a dessert that looks just as good as it tastes.
It's simple enough to make in minutes but impressive enough to serve at summer parties, family BBQs or even as a birthday dessert.
Perfect for summer celebrations
This is the kind of dessert that feels right at home at every summer occasion.
Garden parties.
BBQs.
Picnics.
Movie nights.
Or those evenings when you're craving something a little more exciting than a bowl of ice cream.
Because when you start with cake, everything else falls into place.
Make it your own
The best part about sundaes is making them your own.
Swap the strawberry for chocolate ice cream if you're feeling indulgent. Add colourful sprinkles for extra fun. Drizzle over chocolate or strawberry sauce. Scatter over fresh berries. Or simply enjoy it exactly as it is.
However you build it, one thing stays the same:
It all starts with cake.
A little slice of summer
Sometimes the best desserts aren't the most complicated.
They're the ones that bring together two favourite treats and turn an ordinary afternoon into something worth celebrating.
So next time you've got a slice of Neapolitan Cake waiting for you, don't just serve it.
Turn it into a sundae.
Your future self will thank you.
