We want cakes for the summer! We know most people think cakes are maybe the last thing you would want in the summertime, but they can actually make really nice summer desserts if you pick the right flavour.
Plus, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate in the summer, it’s the peak wedding season, and most people want to get married in the glorious sunshine. And with that, there means there are lots of summer anniversaries to celebrate too. And who could forget all of the summer birthdays that are occurring?
There are many excuses to have a slice of cake, plus you might just want something to give to the family as a treat, whether you’re planning a picnic or a big family get-together. A cake can be the perfect way to end a lovely get-together meal.
We’ve pulled together the perfect treats and cakes to enjoy in the summer sunshine:
Lemon and blueberry cake – Our delicious summer special is packed full of fresh flavours making it the ideal summer cake. A luscious lemon sponge is infused with natural lemon flavours and studded with whole blueberries throughout the sponge cake layer. We mix powdered blueberries with our buttercream to create the vibrant, yet creamy, blueberry buttercream that runs between the cake layers. More buttercream is slathered across the top layer of the cake, which is finished with a delicious and beautiful white chocolate lattice.
Apple Crumble Cake – Our Apple Crumble cake has a beautifully light cinnamon sponge with sultanas and real apple pieces running through it. Generous vanilla buttercream sandwiches the sponge, and the crumble pieces scattered on top give the cake a welcome bit of crunch. We know what you’re thinking, apple crumble sounds more like a winter cake, but pair it with some delicious cold custard and you have a fabulous summer pudding.
Lemon Cake – The sponge is infused with natural lemon oil and made with eggs to create a light and fluffy citrus cake. Natural lemon oil is also used in the buttercream and white chocolate is drizzled on top. There’s nothing better than a zingy slice of lemon cake to enjoy in the summer sun.
Baby Sponge Cakes – Our mini sponge cakes are perfect for the summer. These bite-sized baby cakes are just enough to give you the sweet kick you’re craving, while not sitting too heavily on your stomach in the heat. Cute baby versions of our whole sponge cakes - these mini cakes are the perfect size to have with a cuppa. We have lots of flavours to choose from including gluten free and some limited-edition flavours too. Available in packs of 4, 8, 16, 40, 80 or 120. Our packs of 4 and 8 are gift wrapped for gifting, and our larger packs of 16, 40, 80, and 120 are for parties and arrive in their individual boxes unwrapped.
Brownies – We have a wonderful range of brownies to sink your teeth into, for some people the thought of chocolate in the summer is too much, but warmed up and paired with some delicious ice-cream or cream, they make the perfect desserts. We have lots of brownies for 8 flavours available, and we even do baby brownies which are individually wrapped and ideal for handing out to everyone.
