National Photo Month

Celebrate your favourite photos

You may not have heard of National Photo Month, it’s more widely celebrate in the United States, although some people in the UK do make it a feature focus. It is a yearly event that is observed in the month of May. The reason for National Photo Month is to celebrate the art and history of photography, as well as to encourage everyone to take and share their own photographs, whether they are a professional or a beginner.

Various organisations such as art galleries and museums take part in the celebrations, often holding exhibitions, and workshops that people can get involved in to learn photography skills. They will showcase some of the history, as well as likely presenting the work of professional photographers. So, we think it’s a great idea to keep your eyes out for events happening near you and see what you can get involved with.

It's also a great time to go out and just take some new photographs, capturing memories with your loved ones. It doesn’t matter whether you’re new to taking photographs or you’re more experienced, sometimes we forget to capture the moments that matter the most. So, make a point of setting yourself some photography goals.

But, if that’s not your think or you don’t think you’ll have time to get involved maybe take the opportunity to get the old photo albums out and remind yourselves of some great memories that you’ve spent with your loved ones. Perhaps it’s something you could even get kids involved with you could tell them all about those memories whilst showing them the photographs. We think it’s a great bonding experience to share as a family.

You may have particular photographs in mind that you just love and want to share with a friend or family member, and there are some unique ways you can do that. These are ideal for special occasions too, sharing a memory is a fantastic way to let them know you care. We have a couple of options which are a perfect way to share your unique photographs, and they also include a tasty treat.

Cake Cards – If you don’t have a specific occasion you’re celebrating, or even if you do, a Cake Card is a wonderful letterbox gift to send to someone you care about. With our photo upload option, you can create a personalised card with your own photograph. Inside the card you can write your own message, and add a slice or two of cake and some other goodies to make them smile.

Cake Cards are a unique gift that you can send through the post to brighten up someone's day for any occasion. They consist of a card and a choice of one or two slices of yummy cake or treats, all packaged together in a specially designed card box. Our letterbox cake cards have been specifically designed this way to fit through a standard size letterbox, allowing us to send these unique gift cakes by post!

Our Cake Cards are packaged in specially designed boxes with your chosen card design on the front, a personalised message on the inside and your cake slices / treats secured inside. They are designed to be robust to keep the contents safe but also slim enough to fit through any standard letterbox.

Photo Cakes – Our other option is to send them a photo cake. They’re literally cakes with photos on top. They are available in a choice of flavour (either Victoria Sponge or Chocolate Cake), and there are two sizes available. You can easily upload your chosen photograph into our design tool to create your photo cake topper. Once you’ve placed your order our dedicated team of bakers will set to work to create your photo cake. The topper is printed with edible ink on to edible paper, and then it’s placed on top of an icing disc which is fixed to the top of your chosen cake. It’s then packaged safely and securely to be sent to your recipient’s address. A great surprise that is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

There are lots of ways to celebrate National Photo Month, we’re sure you’ll find a great way to share your favourite photographs or even capture new memories.
