We know how important it is to make sure you have everything in place for a special occasion. Especially if you are organising it for someone else. Most people need a cake for a celebration, it’s the finishing touch for a lot of occasions, the icing on the cake of the day, if you will.
We often get asked “How far in advance do I need to order a cake for my special occasion?” – well we are going to answer this question right here, right now. Whenever you want. The great thing about Sponge is that you can pre-order your cakes as far in advance as you want.
All you need to do is visit our website, choose the cake or brownie that is perfect for your occasion, choose a card and write your message (if you need one), take a look through our extra goodies and add any you want to the box. Then you just need to review your order to make sure you’ve got everything you need for your special occasion.
The next step is so simple, add any discount codes you have before you proceed to the next page. Then you just need to log in to your account, or create one and pop in your delivery details.
Once this is done a calendar will appear, and this is where the magic happens. On the calendar you can see the available delivery dates, but if you want to pre-order your cake in advance you can select a date as far in the future as you want. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Next Month’ button in the top right-hand corner of the calendar, and you can keep moving to the next month until you find the month you want your cake to be delivered. There’s also a ‘Previous Month’ button in the top left-hand corner of the calendar if you move ahead too far.
As always, we don’t want anyone to be without a cake for their special occasion, so we still recommend where possible to select the delivery date a day or two before you require the cake. This is just in case there are any unforeseen delivery delays that are out of our control, such as the courier van breaking down.
The cake will still extremely delicious on the day, as our cakes stay fresh for 10 days. All of our cakes come with a best before date on them as well. Just keep your cakes in a nice cosy spot until you need them, as they are best eaten at room temperature when the icing is soft.
