A cake that gives back: meet the Break Cake

We’re so excited to introduce our Strawberry Sprinkle Cake for Break, a special collaboration with Break that turns something simple (and very delicious) into something genuinely meaningful.

For every cake sold, 20% of sales will go directly to Break, helping support their incredible work with children and young people. For anyone unfamiliar with the charity, Break walk alongside children and young people in, around and leaving care when they're needed most. Through fostering, residential homes, family support, mentoring and their leaving care service, they help children and young people build their confidence, create strong relationships and experience new opportunities. More than support, they offer lifelong care, love and ambition so that young people can grow beyond what they thought was possible.

Why Break?

The cake itself (it had to be a good one)

If you know us, you’ll know we don’t do things by halves, so this had to be a proper feel-good bake.

We’re talking:

Soft, fluffy vanilla sponge, smooth, fruity strawberry buttercream with a layer of sweet strawberry jam, finished with a joyful scattering of colourful sprinkles.

It’s bright, nostalgic and full of flavour. The kind of cake that feels at home at birthdays, get-togethers, or just a sunny afternoon when cake feels like the right answer (which for us is… often)

And did we mention it's available in both standard and gluten-free?

Why this matters to us

Our partnership with Break is something we’re really proud of.

We’ve spent time getting to know the team and learning more about the work they do, supporting young people to build confidence, independence and brighter futures. It’s the kind of work that stays with you.

So, when we thought about how we could support them in a way that felt true to Sponge, this idea just made sense. Bake something brilliant. Share it. Give something back.
