Despite the fact that we are now, pretty much, past the pandemic, and we’re not as isolated as we once were there are still people around the country that are still quite isolated. And with isolation comes loneliness. We are sure that everyone has experienced the feeling, and that’s why we think it’s important to reach out to someone who is on their own, whether it’s a neighbour, friend, or relative.
Something as simple as a text or a phone call to start a conversation with them can make a big difference to them, just to let them know you’re there and that you care about them. Little gestures make a big difference in someone’s life, and can help alleviate that feeling of loneliness even for just a few minutes, but those few minutes can feel magical.
On the 11th of July 2022 it’s Cheer Up the Lonely Day. There are many reasons someone might be lonely, whether it’s due to health issues, grief, financial reasons, or other personal reasons, the feeling on loneliness can be overwhelming. And when you feel that way, you may not feel like you should or even can reach out to others, for fear of bothering them.
If you want to let someone you think is lonely know that you’re there for them but you don’t know someone’s phone number, and don’t want to feel intrusive by knocking on their door, there is another way to reach out and gives them a little gift as well.
