Here we are, still in lockdown 3.0 and it looks like we will continue to be in lockdown until at least March. It is a tough time for many of us, knowing we will have to continue staying at home for at least another month. So, we have decided that we will continue our alternative Sponge Heroes competition in February.
Be a Sponge Hero Competition
We want you to BE a Sponge Hero again to put a smile on someone’s face. They may be struggling with the continuation of the third lockdown, perhaps they are still shielding or they are on their own and you want to reach out to let them know you care. Whatever the reason, we want to help.
Who can be nominated?
Anyone that you think needs and deserves a pick-me-up during the lockdown. Just tell us the story about why they need a reason to smile and they could be chosen. The only rules are you can’t nominate yourself and you need to be able to provide us with the name and address of the person if they win.
What’s the prize?
For the month of February, we won’t just be giving a prize to one nominee. We will be picking 4 winners again this month. We will be giving the winning nominee’s a Sponge for 8 (flavour of your choice) and those who nominated the winner will receive a cake card.
How to enter
There are a couple of ways you can nominate and be a sponge hero:
Nominations can be sent via email to [email protected], you’ll need to send us the story of why your nominee needs a smile put on their face this month. Please send all emails with the subject line ‘Be a Sponge Hero’.
Social Media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter) - the main requirements are that our profile is followed and/or liked by yourself and that you either direct message or comment with the story of why your nominee should have a cake sent to them. If posting your nomination on your social media profile/stories please make sure to include the hashtag #SpongeHeroes.
How will Sponge choose a winner?
We will review the entries to the competition and read your stories – along with checking that you have complied with all of the entry requirements. Once we have reviewed them, each week we will narrow it down and pick 4 winners at the start of March!
How will Sponge contact the winner?
We will contact you via your original entry. As mentioned above you’ll need to provide us with the name and delivery information for your nominee if they are the winner. You’ll also need to decide what cake to send to them. We will then arrange for the cake to be delivered to them, straight to their door, on your behalf. We will also need your contact and delivery details to send you a free Cake Card.
Are there any hidden catches?
No, we are not super villains looking to trap your Sponge Hero, there’s no catch involved. But we would love you to send us any pictures of the person with the cakes, so we can all see them smile with you.
