I wasn’t sure whether I’d get that distinctive Bakewell tart flavour with this cake but first bite and I was convinced. It had all that taste of the Bakewell in a delicious sponge.cake. So good I’ve had this cake twice now. A firm favourite in this house.

I ordered a cake for a birthday. Was well packaged arrived early. Looked well. However it wasn’t the nicest in taste. Sponge was quite dry and icing was almost inedible as tasted strongly of essence. Will not be ordering cakes from here again. However great delivery service :)

Sponge delicious a little soggy in the centre. The butter cream was extra strong so small slices were best. Maybe strong almond makes a great summer cake.

According to my Mum and her husband the cake looked lovely and the flavour was nice and almondy but totally natural. It was a very good size with a generous amount of filling as well - just sorry I couldn't try it!

This was a new flavour for me. The description on the site appealed to me and I usually enjoy almond flavoured cake fingers. It was an instant hit with my family. The jam and cream icing was a super nice and light in contrast to the richness and "flavourfullness" of the cake!

Fabulous flavour - not too sweet. My husband who loves cake is often troubled by feeling bloated free eating. This gluten and dairy free cake was definitely ‘tolerated ‘ better by his ‘system’ and he Ioves the cake a much as any of the others.

This was a birthday cake for my wife and it went down a treat with everyone. Nice sponge, nice cream & nice size. The only criticism I did have was on the delivery side of things as when I opened the door to the delivery driver he had stood the box on its side so I was concerned that the cake may have slid in the both but thankfully it hadn’t. So all was good. Overall would definitely order again.

The bakewell sponge was absolutely delicious. Beautifully moist and a lovely flavour. We had to freeze some as we couldn’t get through it all and it froze wonderfully too. Tasted just as nice 2 weeks later out of the freezer. I would highly recommend Sponge.

All our plans to meet up and celebrate with family down south were scuppered because of Covid-19, so your Bakewell Cake was the nearest we could get to being with our families. Thank you so much for making life so much easier for us. I live in US and I have a lot of family in England. At times like this when getting together is difficult you guys were the answer. The cake tasted amazing and ordering and paying with an international card was a breeze. I was informed and could track my package every step of the way. I sent one of the 8 person bakewell tart cakes to my father for his lockdown birthday. He absolutely loved it! He said the said the sponge was weighty (he said the sign of a good cake!), moist and most importantly absolutely delicious! It was very rich to a point where it was sickly. Too much sugar used. Perhaps you could reduce the amount and use Stevia as a substitute? I wouldn't buy this particular cake again. Sorry.

When you take the wrapper off the glorious Bakewell smell hits you and makes your mouth water. The sponge has a lovely density, not like cheap supermarket sponges that are light with no substance. There is enough a good layer of really delicious jam and then there is the masterpiece, the buttercream, which truly sets this cake apart from all other Bakewell sponges. The cake is a pleasure party for the mouth, an extravaganza of excellence.

I had never tried the Bakewell sponge before, but as the selection available was more limited than usual due to the Lockdown, I ordered one for the Easter weekend.
