Order Cakes Online

You don't have to worry about ordering cakes online with Sponge...

You may be wondering if it's safe to buy cake online? We've made sure that it is not only safe, but fun and easy too! Here are some common questions that people have before ordering cakes online and our responses.

1) How do I order cakes online?

We've made it easy to order your cakes online with our new and improved website. You can choose from all cakes or if you are looking for a whole sponge cake you can pick by flavour. You can then pick the size of cake or how many cakes you would like and add them to your basket. Once added you will be taken through our cake topper and personalisation options to create your very own personalised cake - we have options such as candles, balloons and drinks to spruce up you sponge cakes! Then all you have to do is enter your details and pay - we will keep you notified with your cake delivery all the way via email and text.

2) Will my cake get damaged in the post?

We have extremely robust and safe levels of packaging to ensure your cakes do not get damaged on their way to you. We have specially made boxes that wrap around our sponge cakes to keep them safe which also feature a handy cutting guide so you can get the perfect wedge every time. These then go inside a very robust box to ensure the cakes are protected during transit. We use a trusted courier to deliver your sponge cakes - they will send you delivery updates via email and text. If for the unlikely reason your cake did suffer any damage to it during delivery we would either refund you or send you a replacement straight away.

3) How do I know what's in the cake?

We list all ingredients and allergens for each cake on our website. All you need to do is click the ingredients and allergens link at the top of each cake flavour - this will bring up a detailed list of everything the cake contains. We try to use as many quality and natural ingredients as we can rather than lots of artificial preservatives.

4) Will the cake arrive on the correct date?

When ordering your cake online via our website you will be able to choose your delivery date via our online calendar during the checkout. If you order by 2pm you can get next day delivery as standard. We do recommend if the cake is for a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or coffee morning that you get your cakes delivered a couple of days before just incase of any unforeseen delivery delays. Our cakes stay fresh for 7-10 days so you don't need to worry!

5) Is my money secure?

Yes we use stripe for online payments which is very secure and trustworthy.

6) How long do your cakes last?

Our cakes stay fresh for 7-10 days (7 if they have fruit in e.g apple crumble). Our cakes should be stored in an air-tight container once opened. Do not store in the fridge as this will dry the cakes out! Always make sure you let your cake warm up to room temperature before you tuck in - if the icing is hard it means your sponge needs to warm up a bit so pop it in a cosy spot. You can also freeze our sponge cakes for up to 6 months either in their packaging or wrapped up securely in clingfilm.

7) How do I know if your cakes are any good?

Unfortunately we can't send you a sample electronically but we do collect lots of reviews from our customers so you can see what they think about our sponge cakes - check out our reviews on Trustpilot or Yell.

We've tried to make ordering cakes online nice and easy so there is no stress when trying to order a birthday cake - there is no more need to search for 'cake makers near me' as we deliver all over the UK - including popular areas such as cake delivery London, Birmingham and Liverpool.
