Ordered this as my first ever order for my partners birthday and wow was i impressed! The sponge was so moist with a deep treacle like flavour that just coats your mouth and sticks to your lips. Seriously gorgeous!

Friends came round with housewarming and it was to die for fo to heaven and come back for more. Sooooo Scrummy and Delicious. With vanilla ice-cream was sheer indulgence. Wanted more but did not have room for it was yummy.

FAO Amy Fulwood. Your Mum and Dad sent me one of these for my birthday last week. It was absolutely delicious, yummy, scrummy thanks. It lasted all week and we even took some away to the Lakes with us for the weekend to go walking but it rained so we just had to eat it at home. We loved the Victoria Sponge and are definitely Sponge fans, the Sticky Toffee is delicious but more of a pudding treat than a tea time. Maybe change the description to Sticky Toffee Pudding Sponge! We think you are great - love the website and all very friendly and helpful!
I had the privilege of trying this last night while I was around The Cake Monsters. Was fantastic. Best cake I'd ever tasted! Keep up the good work.
I am a keen cake maker and decided to buy this cake as it looked as though it would be a lovely cake for a special family tea. Also, it was attractively packaged. The shop assistant said the cake had been frozen before sale, but we thought it would still eat well. Unfortunately, when we came to serve the cake a few hours after purchasing it, it was soggy in places. We also thought it was much too sweet and the filling had grainy feel on the tongue, as though it had not been beaten sufficiently. Our family thought it was OK, but not great. I would like to add that for many years I worked with patisserie trainees and young chefs on recognition of the quality points of food.

The Sponge making process has been being going for 10 years and we have found the freezing process to work a treat with no negative sensory effects. What we do say however is that Sponges must be given ample time to reach room temperature as this is when Sponge eats best. This is especially the case with Sticky Toffee with its dense pureed date content contributing to the yummy “pudding” title it has earned itself! At Sponge HQ we have got our heads together & wonder whether this Sponge hadn’t quite warmed through to the core.
