Send a Sponge postbox. New delivery options from Sponge Cakes.We’ve added a few additions to our delivery service recently to improve our online service. Please see details below…

  • Need your cake before midday? (Don’t worry, we know the feeling!) Well, now there’s a pre-midday delivery option when you checkout for £1.
  • Not going to be in on your allocated delivery day? Leave instructions for the delivery driver on the checkout page in the comments box provided.
  • As ever, set a delivery date for your Sponge (Mon-Fri) to arrive. If you’re buying for a birthday or another special occasion and the next day is too soon for your cake, you can specify a more suitable delivery date for your Sponge.

Gluten Free Cake

For all those poor souls who’s faces light up at the sight of our gloriously tall sponges but have their stomachs groaning at the thought of the wheat content of our generous cakes, fear not, for Sponge has catered for your tenuous tummies! You can have Cakes Delivered to your home.

Doves Farm self raising flour is a blend of naturally gluten and wheat free rice, potato, tapioca, maize and buckwheat.  At Sponge we appreciate that gluten free flour is a little drier than their gluten packed relation, and to counteract that we add additional oil and egg to each batch.

The two flavours’ we currently offer are Gluten Free Carrot Sponge and Gluten Free Apple Crumble Sponge. Due to the moist nature of these cakes with the fruit and vegetable content we feel these were the best Sponges to start our development on!

Sponge is Rising

THE SPONGE IS RISING
KEY MOMENTS IN OUR LITTLE JOURNEY…..

Following 6 months of planning and sorting ourselves out over the winter months, Sponge went live on the 1st July 2010.

Nee and Amy join the hard core of Mark, Iain and Sue and we sent out our first courier delivered Sponge. We hope to do for Cake what Interflora did for Flowers! Get your 7″ x 5″ letter box fitted now!! A  7’’ sponge anywhere in the country for under £20 – amazing!

Our first grown up customer was the University of Norwich – thanks Stephen for all your support – and more Sponge stockists have followed……

Our rather boring white van got ‘pimped’ Sponge style and just like our Sponges, turns a few heads! If our van is in your town you cannot miss it.

Lesley, Theresa and Frankee then joined the Sponge team.

We creep into the big city of London with the World’s best department store – Selfridges! Selfridges now stock our delicious Sponges.

Sponge For Cafes, Shops and Restaurants

To keep it very brief, we sold SPONGE in our own cafe and deli in Holt for 9 years. The reputation and following was immense, therefore, we thought we would share a bit of SPONGE success with other retailers.

We have taken a  traditional product with old school standards, given it an up to date feel, made with great ingredients, in small batches, by decent, honest folk –  simple really!

If you’re keen to share in our success, have a look on our website www.sponge.co.uk to get a feel for what we are about. SPONGE loves to be eaten inside 7 days and can be frozen, best displayed ambient, attracts a decent margin for its retailers and is delivered anywhere in the UK by courier.

We supply a 7″ retail sponge, however, we also supply sponge by the individual wedge and as a 10″ pre sliced sponge ideal for cafe’s, restaurant etc to serve to the customer on a plate.
