Not only does Bruin investigate family fun for Our Nofolk on his blog, he is also one of our chief cake testers here at Sponge HQ!
Bruin’s brother Barnaby also tagged along for the day as he thought we might appreciate a second opinion…
Bruin and Barnaby were supposed to taste test two different slices but they got muddled and just ate the lot! #stickypaws
Bruin and visiting brother Barnaby seriously sampled the sponge but when it came to the Sharing Sponge, Grumpy Ted looked on expectantly…
That looks like an awful lot of cake for two small bears, or it might just be the camera angle…
And yes, Bruin is always properly attired if he’s in the Sponge HQ setting… (bears wear ‘fur’nets)
Bruin and Barnaby are always welcome in the Sponge bakery and we love to hear about all their adventures in North Norfolk! Here is a little bit more about Bruin (in his own words!)
“I was born in Alresford Mill, Hampshire and I think I’m about 30-something (ahem..!) I have a brother Barnaby who lives in Guildford, Surrey. Having traveled the globe and after many adventures, I have since made North Norfolk my home. I report on great things for children and small bears to do in Bruin’s Blog – a ted’s take on family fun! See me alongside a story and know that it’s an activity for all the family!”...(more)

Sponge bods, Nick, Les and Ernie have all had a play with the Create Your Own Sponge page and created their own, so let’s delve into their creations and see what they reveal about them..!!
Nick: Chocolate base, toffee butter cream, chocolate covered caramels in the middle, double chocolate drizzle on the top.
Definitely a lover of all things chocolate, with toffee and caramel for a bit of sweetness. Playing it safe with the extras considering how many toppings are available. Verdict: Rich, but modest tastes!
Les: Chocolate base, chocolate orange butter cream, Maltesers in the middle, white chocolate shavings on the top.
Again, enjoying the chocolate vibes, but with a fruity chocolate orange twist in the butter cream. Maltesers in the middle for a bit of crunch and white chocolate on top for extra bite and sweetness. Verdict: Fruity missus!
Ernie: Vanilla & Chocolate base. Toffee butter cream. Smarties, Maltesers, White Choc Chunks in the middle. Hundreds & Thousands, Double Chocolate Drizzle on the top.
Vanilla and chocolate Sponge bases to mix things up a bit. Definitely a baker with a sweet tooth here with toffee butter cream, Smarties, Maltesers, white chocolate, hundreds and thousands and double chocolate drizzle crammed in! Verict: Loves the sweet stuff, a Willy Wonka in the making!!
